Spring and Fall Clean ups are back!
The Mandan Park Neighborhood Association will be holding a neighborhood cleanup site by Marrs Middle School in the spring and fall. In 2023 a Douglas County Sheriff’s Department Explorer post helped by supporting us with traffic control. You guys rock! This is a City of Omaha sponsored event with garbage trucks provided.
Mandan Park Neighborhood Association
2023 Accomplishments
The Mandan Park Neighborhood Association has been working hard improving and informing people about safety and other issues in our neighborhood. Our top priority has always been the safety of children and the elderly in South Omaha.
MPNA created social media connections and publications to post information, promote activities, groups and events in our neighborhood. We hold appreciation dinners and neighborhood picnics. We formed a citizen patrol and attend police meetings at SE Precinct and SW Precinct each month.
MPNA has also been helping Friends of Mandan Park by reporting issues and by beautifying the area with trash removal from around the
Memorial Bridge in South Omaha.
13th Street and
20th Street Corridors
We have been reporting speeding along these corridors for years and the
SE Precinct and Douglas County
Sheriffs Office have done a great job reducing these incidents.
Graffiti
We have been reporting graffiti for years to the City of Omaha’s hotline, who sends the Graffiti Van a notice of the location. Graffiti is promptly removed...we love the Graffiti Van guys!
Veterans Memorial Bridge
MPNA has reported many issues and has removed over 60 bags of trash, tires, carpet, etc. this year. Over 20 bags consisted of trash that had been there for 20 years.

Mandan Park Citizen Patrol
2023 Accomplishments
The Mandan Park Citizen Patrol has over 65 years of combined service. Mandan Park Citizen Patrol is new but has incorporated the remnants of the former Spring Lake Neighborhood Association patrol and the former Brown Park Neighborhood Association patrol. We attend a monthly meeting at the Southeast Precinct and a monthly meeting at the Southwest Precinct.
After 25 years of active service, Bill Hanes recieves a recognition award from the Omaha Coalition of Citizen Patrol. Mandan Park Citizen Patrol was and is proud to have Bill as a member.
.
Mandan Park Citizen Patrol was formed out of the need to incorporate members from the former Brown Park Neighborhood Association and the former Spring Lake Neighborhood Association under an existing neighborhood association. MPCP members represent over 65 years of combined service to the community. With the startup of Mandan Park Neighborhood Association and its involvement with Citizen Patrol for years prior, it seemed only right to group everyone together to get things done.
New and Old members
Scotty a member of citizen patrol since 2007 and new members attend Police meetings twice a month. Thank you Scotty for your years of service! Mandan Park Citizen Patrol is the only certified patrol in and around our neighborhoods and parks.
Veterans Memorial Bridge
MPCP continues our vigilance by reporting issues, removing weapons, poaching equipment and other hazardous items like needles from our park and neighborhoods.
